The journey from Vitznau offers a gradual change from the lakeshore to Rigi Kaltbad and the upper mountain. An arrival by boat can make a pleasing combination, but it is a separate connection that needs its own timetable check. The normal railway service provides the practical backbone of the visit; historic-carriage or steam travel is a special choice on particular dates, not a feature to assume on every departure.
