Fenqihu is an important intermediate point, but stop arrangements depend on the service. Do not assume that arriving at Alishan also books a sunrise train. The main-line ticket should not be treated as an included dining package. Fenqihu has a well-known station-food tradition, but purchasing opportunities depend on the selected train's stop and timetable. Bring suitable water and refreshments, and confirm any special-train catering separately from an ordinary reservation.
