Northern Explorer
Plan the Auckland-to-Wellington crossing as a full scenic travel day, selecting Scenic Class or Scenic Plus according to the desired onboard experience. Match hotels and onward transport to the operating days, and check holiday breaks before committing to the wider North Island itinerary.
Coastal Pacific
Follow the South Island's eastern coastline toward Marlborough and Picton on a complete one-way rail journey. Scenic Plus adds regional dining to the trip. Any Kaikōura activity, winery visit or onward ferry crossing needs separate confirmation; the through rail ticket should not be read as a sightseeing package.
TranzAlpine
Cross the South Island from Canterbury through the Southern Alps to the West Coast. Scenic Plus adds a hosted dining experience to the complete one-way ride, while Scenic Class provides a separate seated alternative. Arrange West Coast accommodation and any onward exploration independently unless your quotation explicitly includes them.
