Excel and PDF versions available. Updated 06-21-2011.

The purpose of this update page is to appraise you of the issues affecting our production schedule. We are still in the process of re-announcing all projects as they are placed with a different factory. The new due dates are targets as we develop our new relationships and build up an experience base with them. Our Reservation Order Form lists all previously announced as yet undelivered projects with their status and expected delivery date.

June 2011: The old factory still has not released our production molds and materials. As a result, runs of the Maxi-Stack III, RoadRailer and American Highways Trailers, Ready-To-Place Shops, ACF 2-Bay Covered Hopper, and 40' Hi-Cube, 45' and 53' Corrugated Containers had their expected delivery dates suspended. Until the production tooling is at the new factory, those body styles are dead in the water. Our new factory representative is in contact with Sanda Kan but we do not have a firm date for moving the tooling yet. As to the rest of our tooling, most of the molds are now in Pennsylvania and producing bodies. The Armco buildings are due here in July and runs of both the 20' corrugated and refrigerated containers are due here in August. Check the Reservation Order Form for the status on your favorite projects.

April 2011: The old factory, Sanda Kan, still has not released our production molds and materials. They include the Maxi-Stack III, RoadRailer and American Highways Trailers, Ready-To-Place Shops, ACF 2-Bay Covered Hopper, and 40' Hi-Cube, 45' and 53' Corrugated Containers. Until the production tooling is at a new factory, those body styles are dead in the water. We have stepped up efforts to get our new factory representative into Sanda Kan but do not have a firm date for moving the tooling. As to te rest of our tooling, most of the molds are now in Pennsylvania and will be producing bodies by the end of the month. The first decent sized wave of products should be here in about 3 months. In fact, the Armco buildings are due here in May from this factory and there are runs of both the 20' corrugated and refrigerated containers due here in June. Anything that has not been re-announced yet will be in the next few months. Check the Reservation Order Form for your favorite projects.

January 2011: Well, things still aren't running as smoothly as we would like. The first 2 runs of container chassis will be delayed, the mold shop hasn't shipped the plastic parts yet and that will cost us 6 weeks already because it is now Chinese New Year. And we still haven't got our molds out of the old factory (Sanda Kan) yet. It appears that we will be able to get them soon after Chinese New Year though. On a sad note, the owner of one of the mold shops that ran our containers in the US passed away last year. There are 4 container bodies that were molded there in California. Unfortunately, that means that these molds are behind schedule getting to another shop here on the East Coast. With a little luck, they will be here by the end of February. Select runs on 3 of these bodies may be produced for us by Bowser. Nothing is definite yet and we have to be aware of the relative pricing between our US and Chinese sources. The MSCo/Gold 40' hi-cube container 2-pack (#20141) that we are shipping now was decorated by Bowser and molded here in the US before that mold was sent to China. We sent the RoadRailer trailer mold set to China because of damage to the bodies in shipping and the 40' hi-cube runs in the same mold base so it moved too.

December 2010: A parting gift from the old factory also that the 2 runs of deep rib woodchip gondolas recently announced will not be ready until March or April. The trucks have to come from the old factory and the earliest they could provide them is 2/28/11. Still, cross your fingers as that date could get pushed.

November 2010: We were lucky to make a deal while a TrainFest which will get all the tooling back from our old factory and into production early next year, the first releases should hit in April. That means the RoadRailer and highway trailers, 40' hi-cube, 45' and 53' containers, the Maxi-III and the 2-bay covered hopper will be in the next couple batches of re-announcements. Earlier in the month, the second batch of items were re-announced, including the Maxi-Stack IV in 4 regional railroads, Deep Rib Woodchip Gondolas, boxcars, container chassis and Armco Steel Buildings in green.

October 2010: We have started to get our prodution back on track. We will be re-announcing all items in the production pipeline as they are scheduled at another factory. The first batch of items were re-announced October 2010, including the Maxi-Stack IV, Deep Rib Woodchip Gondolas and Armco Steel Buildings in white and gray.

July 2010: Anyone familiar with industry happenings probably heard that Sanda Kan (now owned by Bachmann’s parent company) "let go" of 60 customers in mid-June 2010, DeLuxe among them. They were responsible for about 90% of our production. This led to increased delays in production, a process which began in August of 2008. All projects are already at least a year behind schedule, and this will stretch that on most items. We would like nothing more than to delivery everything in the pipeline as soon as possible but there are a lot of unknowns because so much is uncertain right now. It is difficult to assign dates until products are set up at a different factory. Expected dates were removed from all products, they will have new due dates posted as soon as they are assigned places on another factory production schedule.
